Pico-Pix Projector PPX2055 – Phillips Announces

Phillips Corporation has finally announced the handy projector called ‘Pico-Pix’. With amazing and ingenious features can be operated at anywhere.

This Pico-Pix is small enough for your pocket. Half the size of a camera and designed to pair-up with a laptop or Ultra book, the Pico-Pix PPX2055 has a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels, so isn’t capable of showing native H.D content.

Specifications

Don’t be fooled into thinking the PicoPix PPX2055 provides an instant home cinema experience from your pocket. At just 55 lumens of brightness, you’re going to need as near to a blackout as possible for the Pico-Pix PPX2055 to do its job, though its makers claim it can produce an image as big as 120-inches. If that’s huge, the rest of the Pico-Pix PPX2055 screams tiny. Shipping with a tiny fabric pouch that looks like it could do with a belt holster – it’s that small – the package also contains a cable with a mini USB termination on one end.

Performance

Set-up wasn’t quite as easy as we’d hoped. We linked-up the Pico-Pix PPX2055 to a Mac-Book Air, and though the projector appeared as a drive, there was no Mac software available, just the Pico-Pix viewer 2 Setup.exe file. However, a ‘visit us’ weblink took us to the Philips support page, from where we manually found the correct drivers for Mac OS X (along with individual downloads for Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8). Unfortunately, the reboot required just wasn’t possible with the Pico-Pix PPX2055 attached without first crashing the Mac-Book Air, so we had to abandon this particular test.

Since there are no controls on the Pico-Pix PPX2055 itself, the Picviewer 2 software is all-important – and highly impressive. It’s rudimentary in terms of design, but keeps things ever so simple. Engaging the Pico-Pix PPX2055 is no more complicated than choosing a shortcut on the desktop of a laptop, and hitting OK on the first and only set-up screen.

Install a Third Party Monitoring App

It is easy to install free battery monitoring apps, and many of them will also help you save energy while you are running other programs. Apps like these will usually indicate more detailed information about your battery, such as its projected life expectancy and the measurement of how many times the battery reaches its maximum charge each day, as compared to how frequently it reaches it when the MacBook is brand new.

Avoid Poor Batter Performance

On many Apple products, one of the primary reasons the battery experiences issues is that it is being asked to overwork. Some of the ways you can improve longevity is to dim the display, ensure all Bluetooth connections are turned off when you are not using them and to ensure all software updates are current. Another thing that will help is to always close unused applications. Apple only recommends that you charge your device to 50 percent daily as well.

Each of these steps will ensure that your MacBook battery is functioning at its prime level. If you do experience problems and cannot identify the source, a great resource is the Apple forums and YouTube videos, which will help you identify which part needs replacing.

In amusingly typical series fashion, Metal Gear Solid V isn’t a sequel to Metal Gear Solid 4, just like 3 wasn’t a follow-up to 2. And Hideo Kojima the director of this game is very pleased to release it in 1-September-15 by amazing optimized graphics and performance as well.

The Phantom Pain

Truth be told, The Phantom Pain is set in 1984, putting it almost a decade past the events of Ground Zeroes, but also about a decade before the classic Metal Gear from the 8-bit days. In typical Metal Gear fashion, expect enemies and scenarios with a bit of a fantastical, supernatural twist, and some heady, controversial topics (such as child soldiers). Frustratingly, the game also has some awkward, potentially sexist overtones: female character Quiet wears only a bikini and shredded stockings on the battlefield, plus you can place an image of a half-naked woman on the cardboard box you’re hiding in to lure enemy guards.

As introduced in the prequel, Metal Gear Solid V is the first entry to ditch Snake’s original voice actor, David Hayter – who has been replaced with none other than 24 star Keifer Sutherland. It’s strange to not hear Hayter in the role, but Sutherland does a good job of lending gravitas to a gruff, damaged man back for another fight. And when it comes to presentation, parts of The Phantom Pain look downright stunning. The Phantom Pain promises to be 200 times the size of Ground Zeroes, delivering open environments marked by dynamic weather and a day/night cycle. On one hand, that means now there’s no set path for Snake to pursue: no perfectly-designed corridor to be led through, and we’d guess very few ventilation shafts to crawl into, seeing as most of the game seems to take place outside.

Creator ‘Hideo Kojima’ likes to push the envelope, but it could be a bit off-putting here from what we’ve seen.

1994 was a very dark year for motor sports, but specifically for Formula One racing. This is because an icon of the sport was killed on May 1 at the San Marino Grand Prix. Three-time Formula One champion Ayrton Senna was killed when his car smashed into the wall after failing to come out of a turn. His death sent shock waves throughout the sports world. The fact that one of the sport’s biggest and brightest stars could be killed during a race sent a message that track safety conditions needed to be looked at. However, Senna’s death was the second on that track in two days. A day earlier, a driver by the name of Roland Ratzenberger was killed in a crash that happened during qualifying. Max Mosley, elected as the head of FIA a year earlier, took it upon himself to make the sport he loved safer for all of the drivers. Here are the Formula One safety standards introduced by Mosley in the wake of the tragic events of the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix.

1. Crash testing of chassis

The disintegration of the chassis of a car upon impact has been the cause of numerous deaths in racing over the years. Mosley sought to limit this in the future by mandating extensive crash testing on all chassis used in Formula One cars.

2. Re-designing certain tracks

Many of the tracks used to hold Formula One races had developed the reputation of being extremely dangerous. The track used in San Marino was known for being particularly treacherous, even before the shocking events of 1994. Mosley made a list of all the Formula One tracks that he deemed to be problematic in terms of safety. He them formed a committee for the purpose of overseeing the re-design of these specific tracks in order to make them safer.

3. The HANS device

The HANS device was introduced in an effort to limit injuries to the necks of drivers during crashes.

4. Grooved tires

The use of grooved tires was started so that cars would not be able to maintain high speeds during turns. Senna’s high rate of speed during a turn was the reason he lost control of his car.

5. Engine power and capacity was reduced

These changes were made in an effort to lower the speeds the cars are capable of going, making them easier to control.
