I redesigned the main web site for Humboldt State University to improve the information architecture and improve the site’s potential for aiding in recruiting new students. Highlights include a back end powered by ExpressionEngine, Valid XHTML 1.0 Strict (unusual for university sites), Thickbox used for supplemental stories for banner photos, and user-editable quick links written in PHP.

We created a web site to serve as a companion to a printed piece sent to students enrolled for their first year at HSU. The site gives information about various activities available to first-year students, as well as a way to sign up for these activities. This is the first time students have been able to sign up for all the activities in one place, greatly simplifying the process.

This site serves as a communication hub for the counties that the Ag Innovations Network works within, and is built to expand to accommodate up to 15 counties in the future. Each county section has a unique graphic header that features a major agricultural product of the county, and the site is built in Textpattern so that chapter members can manage their own content.
